Existing Walls
Sealection500 Pour-In-Place is a ½ pound, open cell slow
rising foam that can be injected into an existing wall empty wall
cavity. To do this correctly we use several different tools.
The first is an infrared camera.
This is the only way you can really tell what is
behind the plaster. Some of the other tools we use are snake cameras,
stud sensors, and fish tapes.
The things we look for in a wall are wiring, window weights and
fire blocking. After locating all possible studs, fire blocking
and other obstructions we use blue painters tape to mark them out.
The next process is to drill holes
to fill the cavities. We usually drill about 3 ¾” holes
into each 8’ cavity. This can very depending on what is in
the wall.
Due to the small size of the holes, repairing them is usually
not a problem.
The next step is to inject the foam
into each cavity. This is slow process. We like to let give it a
chance to fill every crack and hole in the wall.

Notice the skilled applicator is using a towel to keep the foam
from coming out the holes. We use lots of card board and plastic
to protect the home and furniture.
The
next step after filling the wall cavity
to the top is to check our work. The only
way to due this is with an infrared camera.
This will show us if the cavity is full.
A great time to do the house is when you are planning on residing.
We can do the same process from the outside with great success and
a lot less mess.
